Dive Bombers

The role of the dive bomber in World War II is a subject that has long been misrepresented in the media, both printed and visual. Subjected to misinformation during the war, mainly due to the fact that the Allies had few, if any, of the type, and were on the receiving end, the propaganda encouraged at the time has been repeated ad nauseam in the sixty years since with few attempts at establishing the true picture. Merely repeating long discredited "facts" from one source to another has substituted for real historical research. My long examination of the subject has been conducted through looking at the surviving files and documents themselves, and interviewing the pilots and aircrew who actually flew in dive bombers, as well as the men who designed and built them. Not surprising a rather different picture than generally presented emerges. The flow of inaccurate information still continues unabated, but should any researcher wish for a more factual account they are invited to read the following of my books, which at least have the merit of attempted impartiality!
