DESTROYER ACTION.
Foreword by Admiral Sir Gresham Nicholson, KBE, CB,. DSO, DSC.
H/B 1974 (ISBN 0 7183 0343 1)
Stirring tales, both factual and fiction based upon fact, make up this selection of stories of the diverse and many facets of the Royal Navy's most romantic and action-packed warship type, the destroyer. The tales range from battles and actions during both World Wars to peacetime exploits, and include bad weather, routine and other activities to reflect the whole range of their service. The final story tells the tale of the British destroyer, H.M.S. Cavalier, now preserved at Chatham as a memorial, aboard which the author sailed on her last voyage under the White Ensign. Photos of this historic event can be viewed on the Heritage of the Sea page, see panel below

Included in this marvellous and evocative collection are stories by Taffrail, Bartimeus, Sea-Wrack, Thomas Woodrooffe, A. D. Divine, and Admiral Sir Richard Onslow among others.
