A concise and well illustrated history of the type. Introduced by Admiral Fisher to give the fast scouting wing of the fleet a powerful punch the concept was to be employed instead in the main battle line as a fast battleship.

Lacking the true battleships armour the results were spectacular, with stunning victories like the Falklands in 1914, and incredible disasters like at Jutland or with the loss of the Hood in 1941. Robert Pottle on Amazon.com wrote that it is "...a concise and well written little book."
